  Titanium is the 9th most abundant element in the Earth's crust and the 4th most abundant metal element, and it ranks 22nd on the periodic table and is represented by the symbol "Ti".

  Titanium is called a rare metal because it exists in the crust and lithosphere in the form of rutile and ilmenite, and is processed and separated into a silver-white transition metal.
